Eufy Spaceview Baby Monitor Review
The Eufy SpaceView is a plug and play video baby monitor. It faces very stiff competition in the market. It uses a radio frequency to transmit sound and video from the camera in your baby’s bedroom to a portable monitor. It’s very simple to use, offers excellent sound and video quality, and has ample signal range to work in a house or an apartment.
We think it’s priced just about right. It’s cheaper than the top of the range WiFi smart cameras and health tracking systems like the Nanit Plus ($299) or the Owlet Smart Sock + Cam and offers significant improvements over to the similarly priced Infant Optics DXR-8. However, where it falls short is the stability of the system and its very short wireless range.
Not everything is perfect, however. There are a few things that we wish Eufy would improve (see the details below). Overall, the Eufy SpaceView falls quite short of its competition, with the wireless range being too short for practical use.

Our Hands-on Review of the Eufy Spaceview Baby Monitor
Eufy, maker of smart light bulbs, scales, robot vacuums, and other home gadgets, has now released the Spaceview Baby Monitor ($159.99), a high-definition monitoring system that lets you keep an eye on your child from anywhere in the house.
This camera/monitor combo will let you know when your baby is crying and offers responsive pan and tilt functionality, and it's ready to use right out of the box. It also delivers sharp video, but it lacks motion detection and other smart features that you get with our Editors' Choice for baby monitors, such as the Bebcare Motion baby monitor and the VAVA.
“The camera captures full color video at 720p and has a 45-degree field of view and a temperature sensor.”
Audio and Video quality
The Eufy Spaceview system consists of a camera and a portable handheld monitor and comes with two USB power adapters, two USB power cables, a camera wall mount, and a user manual. Shaped like a short, stubby light bulb, the camera stands 4.0 inches high, is 3.0 inches wide at the top, and has a 2.2-inch wide base. The enclosure is glossy white with a black camera face that holds a microphone and provides 110 degrees of floor-to-ceiling mechanical tilt.
The camera captures full color video at 720p and has a 45-degree field of view and a temperature sensor. It offers 16 feet of black-and-white night vision video and comes with a small twist-on wide angle lens that expands the field of view to 110 degrees. The speaker and microphone provide two-way audio communication with the monitor, and the microphone is also used for sound detection and will trigger an alert to the monitor when the baby is crying or making any kind of noise. Missing are the motion detection capabilities that you get with other baby monitors, such as the Bebcare Motion and the iBaby Monitor M7.

Eufy Spaceview camera installation
Installing the baby camera is super easy. You can place it on a shelf or use the wall-mount that’s included in the box. That’s about it.
The camera does come with an extra wide-angle lens that you can attach to it if you want. It gives you a much broader view of your baby’s bedroom. I screw the wide-angle lens to the camera the first day we got it and haven’t touched it since.
You can purchase additional cameras on Amazon if you want to keep an eye on more than one kid. It’s easy to add new cameras to the parent unit by just selecting the option on the monitor and pair them.
The Eufy Spaceview Security and Privacy
Because Eufy’s baby monitor uses an encrypted FHSS radio signal, risks of hacking and security breach are minimal. It’s impossible for someone to hack into the monitor via your Wifi connection, they would need to be within signal range. They would also need to be able to decrypt the secured signal.

Eufy Spaceview Health and Safety
The Eufy camera connects to its parent unit through a wireless 2.4 GHz FHSS connection. It means that an electromagnetic field (EMF) will be constantly emitted from the camera to the monitor in order for you to receive an audio and video feed. We recommend that you read our article on electromagnetic fields if you want to understand what it means in terms of health and safety for your baby. You can choose a low EMF baby monitor like the Bebcare Motion video baby monitor and Bebcare Hear audio baby monitor if you want the safest option for your baby.

Eufy Spaceview Baby Monitor: Most Frequently Asked Questions
-
Question: Eufy Spaceview vs Eufy Spaceview S: What is the difference between the two?
Answer: The Eufy Spaceview and the Eufy Spaceview S are exactly the same cameras and parent monitor. The only difference is that the Eufy Spaceview S comes with an extra clip to mount the camera directly onto your baby’s crib. We don’t recommend that you do that, however, as your baby risks grabbing the camera and the proximity increases electromagnetic radiation exposures.
-
Question: What is the Eufy Spaceview range?
Answer: The manufacturer says that the Eufy Spaceview signal comes with a range of 460ft. We tried the camera in different locations in real-life conditions (with walls and staircases separating the parent unit from the camera), and never experienced any signal issues.
-
Question: Can I see more than one camera at a time in split-screen?
Answer: No. While you can add up to four cameras to one parent unit, you will be able to see only one camera at a time. The Eufy Spaceview does not have a split-screen mode.
-
Question: Can the Eufy Spaceview be voice-activated?
Answer: No. The Eufy Spaceview does not support voice activation. The screen and audio are always on.
-
Question: Can I speak to my baby through the camera?
Answer: Yes. When you use the two-way communication feature, your voice goes to the camera.
-
Question: Can I pair one camera with two receivers?
Answer: No. You can pair up to four cameras with one receiver, but not the other way around.
-
Question: Can the Eufy extra camera be purchased separately?
Answer: Yes. You can use up to four cameras in total with your parent monitor.
-
Question: How is the Eufy Spaceview temperature accuracy?
Answer: In our tests, the Eufy Spaceview indicated a temperature that was a few degrees below or above the actual room temperature. It wasn’t a big difference, but if temperature accuracy is important to you, you might want to get another baby monitor.
-
Question: What is the Eufy baby monitor warranty?
Answer: The Spaceview comes with a standard one year warranty. We recommend you contact Eufy if you experience an issue with your model after purchase. You can call them during normal office hours or email their customer support team.
